I’m with you on not purchasing secondhand shoes, personally, but I love how my father found a pair of pre-owned, much-loved hiking shoes at a swap meet in his retirement home several years ago. The previous owner (who had passed away) was an avid hiker. These shoes fit my father’s feet perfectly; he’s never had shoes he loved so much. He jokes about “walking a mile in somebody else’s shoes,” but he’s logged many miles in this secondhand pair of hikers! I love how secondhand finds sometimes bring good stories!
