So many wonderful aspects of Spring for the senses, Juliet. Those snowdrops are appropriately named! I too like the various birdsongs of Spring. For me, it's the cheery robins and White-throated Sparrows.
Those cherry blossoms at that Japanese garden at Lauriston Castle look amazing. One insect that speaks to me of late Spring and Summer is the cicada. I am looking forward to hearing them once again.
I enjoyed your short story, Juliet. I like the last lines about the Paris-marked envelope. This could be an ongoing series! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Neil. I should check out the songs of the American Robin and White throated Sparrow. I’ve never heard cicadas in real life, I’ve heard them on film soundtracks though, an amazing sound. Thanks for reading my short story, I hadn’t thought about continuing it into a series, but you’ve got me thinking, thanks!
Lovely reminders of all the beauty spring has to offer in the UK 😍
I didn't know that blackbirds were struggling, we have a few nesting pairs in our garden so I'm going to check out the BTO link you shared - thank you for this.
Love this, love Spring! So hopeful, so much growth.
Thanks for the reminder.
